Interesting... in the end, the worst prize I have is "diamond earrings". Are those really diamond earrings, or are they faux diamond (CZ)?

Turned out to be a pretty good giveaway after all, as long as the earrings aren't some fake junk.

Voucher for 4 free Stony Yogurts (worth £1.69) redeemable at ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's expires 20/11/07

This is a non standard barcode (ends 0001) so will not scan for anthing other than the free Stony yogurts

    Edit

The spend £25 @ woolworths and receive a £5 gift voucher is also in the Mirror

Just wondered if it would still take £1.69 off a different item if the sa has to manually input the price?

Ie, I have some coupons for Colmans and they are worth 81p but the barcode is: 9916370040007.

The sa has to put the 81p in herself and it doesn't matter what product I buy, just a thought :)

Yep, this should work with most SAs being happy to do this in Tesco. This one must be a standard 99 barcode or it wouldn't be scannable by the supermarkets named.

So should be fine even if you have to try a couple of times before a cashier is happy to input the amount. It helps if you prompt them along the lines of 'oh that one is worth £x.xx but I think you may have to type the amount in....' then smile sweetly & hope they won't scowl & chuck it back....:o

Digits 10-12 being "000" just prompts the till to ask for manual price input (which can be whatever the SA types in...), usually because the price varies between stores eg price of product might not be 81p or £1.69 everywhere and often the coupon says "worth up to £x.xx", but otherwise it's a standard coupon... and Tesco may have (but probably haven't) made it product specific as they're named in the T&Cs.
