the 2007 bargain stocking/hamper fillers threads

i thought it would be a good idea for us to have one thread to highlight any super bargains we have found for stockings or hampers.

please post what you have found, where and how much. ideally, try and keep it to nationwide chains and companies - nothing more frustrating than someone posting about their fab poundshop bargain when its something that is unique to one little store in one corner of the uk

i'll get us started.

lynx shower gel £1 at tescos
gillette shaving foam 2 for £3 at tesco
various alcohol miniatures in plastic cracker with choco balls £3 at tesco
radox bubble bath - various - £1 - tesco

mens handkerchief 5 pack £3 at asda
purple ronnie face/bum soap £3 at asda
purple ronnie 'baldy polisher'' (flannel and moisturiser) £3 at asda
tubes of sweets (smarties, revels etc) £1 at asda
radox bubble bath - various £1 asda
bath kits (loofaahs, pumice stones etc) in a little basket £1- £3 (looks a bit naff on its own, but can be broken down and added to other stuff)

3 for £2 on mini christmas truffles at thorntons. xmas pud or robin on yule log design

imperial leather foam burst showel gel (lovely, lovely, lovely stuff

) on bogof at boots

the asda deals have been great. couple of weeks back got the 2 haribo bags for £1 but think thats over now!

2 sharesize coke bottles for £1 and 2 large bags of doritos for £1 have come in very handy for the movie hampers!

Savers sell shower scrunchies in a pack of 5 for 99p. You can buy all white ones or packs of 3 white and 2 lilac or 2 blue. These can then be broken down for hampers - which is what I have done!!

In Asda they have tubes of Pink Smarties for £1 each.

Sainsburys have grab-bags of sweets: Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles/Fruit Gums, Cadburys Eclairs, Bassets Allsorts/Jelly Babies all on half price all at about 50-55p each. I bought 4 or 5 as the basis for my brother in laws sweetie hamper.

Following on from the above post they also have those Swizzlers bags on half price. The ones with the sweets, lollies and drumsticks in, again great from hampers.

picked up the film/docu 'Supersize Me' on dvd, also a book by michael moore in poundland.

Hawkins bazaar has lots of stocking filler items for kids. Even better if you have one of their shops near you as no delivery charge!

Tesco have got some chocolate stirrers for 49p. The kids will love these with hot chocolate. Think they are in the biscuit aisle hanging from the shelves.

I bought 2 reduced fujifilm quicksnap glam cams (very pink very girlie)400 isp with 27 exp in boots yesterday they came up as bogof so £2.00 or £2.25 i cannot remember for 2 excellent stocking fillers. The bogof was not mentioned lucky for me i picked up 2 . They also had waterproof ones for boys i think they were around £2 as well.

We have a market hall as part of our main shopping center (in grimsby) and there's a stall that does 100g of sweets (pick and mix) for 49p (as opposed to one in the shopping center that does 100g for 99p

) and as part of the things you can choose there are some lindt chocolates (the big ball like ones). I bought a large bag of them for just under £3 (£2.80 9 i think) - including some that have the christmas theme on.

I've split them between the 20 people I've bought for (as I've already finished Christmas shopping) in little organza bags that were hanging around - and everyone gets a treat of 4or so posh chocolates and it's so much cheaper than buying a box from the shop and is a little nice touch to add to your presents.

[As long as you can stop yourself eating them... they are absolutely and utterly stunning chocolates]
