Hamper Ideas - Inspiration needed

Hi all,
Can anyone help with some suggestions for my brother & sister in law for a christmas hamper? They are just about to undertake a renovation of a barn.
So far I thought:
2 x hard hats
Tape measure
Housebuilder guide book
What else can I include - this is my first go at a hamper! They have a two year old daughter so I thought that perhaps I could get her a little hard hat - as she would love one just like her mum and dad - any suggestions where I can get one from?
Also, my sister is off travelling in February for 6 months so I would love to do her a hamper but not sure what to include as she will not want to carry too much - I thought perhaps a few lonely planet books of the places she is going so that she can look up all the places before she goes but i would like to give her something that she can take with her....any ideas?
Thanks in advance

For the child's hard hat - I would try a toy shop. Perhaps look towards the Bob the Builder items to find something suitable. I have sene plenty of these at car boot sales and usually they are something to do with Bob the Builder. Either that, or with the 'construction' type role-play toys?0

For the barn conversion, thermal socks and work gloves! You can get kiddie hard hats from ELC and asda usually have them in a toy set, BUT, they are toys, not protective wear!
Traveling, water purifying tablets if she is going to 'far flung' areas. Any type of money bag that can be hidden on her person, light floppy hat if she is going to hot climates, fold away toothbrushes and small toothpastes (large ones dry out too quick), sterile alcohol wipes (for cuts, grazes, wiping dirty looking glasses!), re-hydration sachets - the ones you use if you have been ill, especially if she is in warm areas, you don't realise how quickly you become dehydrated. 'Jesus sandals'.
Open a western union account! Free to set it up, and will save you any hassle if she needs money sent over. www.westernunion.co.uk
My lil bro went to Vietnam and elsewhere, and this is what I can remember we sent him away with. Western Union was important, he was mugged and they stole his bank card, takes a while for a new one to be sent over to whatever Consulate. A list of where her Consulates are!0 -
Travelling gifts -
- A pretty leather bound travel journal
- An inflatable globe - great for beach games and also showing locals where you are from
- If she is going to third world countries taking a little bag of 'nice' things for the locals make you some great friends - lipsticks and nail polishes for the ladies and pencils crayons etc for the kids - this may seem tacky, but has always been appreciated in my experience and opened up conversations and invites to peoples homes that would never have happened otherwise
- If she is into the more designer side of life  then a mini set of travel goods such as facial sunscreen, moisturiser, hand cream etc
PS the one thing i really missed in my 4 years of travelling was a blender.... but thats probably just me...!Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

Building a Barn
Something funny like a bob the builder bath bubbles
Flask for taking tea down to the site
Notebook / pen ,etc
Bob the buidler lunchbox for eating their lunch down there.
A home magazine.
Handcream.
Gloves and Scarf.
Re: travelling - when I posted for ideas a few years ago on MSE about what to get my brother and SIL for travelling - someone suggested a leatherman knife - and they loved it. They said they used it all the time when they were away CLICK
