'Ere there's a lot of diary's on here!

Just trying to browse through my favourite forum and I'm quite struck by how many diarys there are.

Don't get me wrong I have no issue at all with anyone's diaries it's just there's rather a lot and I wonder how new posters feel when their post gets lost in the wash.

Right that's me.......and yes before anyone points it out I did, ahem, attempt to start one myself yonks ago but I think I posted once in it

I definitely think they should be on a sub forum - I know when I've asked for help it stays on the front page maybe an hour or so and its quite disheartening. I know I'm not exactly new but it feels as though its hard to get 'in', if you know what I mean.

i agree dont get me wrong i enjoy reading the diarys but what with the stickys and the diarys it only leaves a few slot left mybe a sub board would be better so we can have the best of both worlds mybe someone should start a poll on it and see what the out come is on it

I agree, diaries should be on a sub-forum, then we'd know where to find them AND be able to help posters with questions before the get submerged by daily diary updates. I think that may deter some newbies from posting again, as they may think they won't get any help, purely because their post has got "lost".

I agree with Spendaholic and earwig. They should be on a sub board.

Some people read them and some people don't. For those who don't it can be hard to find new threads, and this could put off newbies as well as regulars.

I don't mean to do diaries down in any way, they are helpful for the people who do them, and many people love reading them.

But the new threads would really stand out if they were seperate from the diaries.

i reckon we need a sticky on how this aint gonna happen lol this has been discussed a few times now and the general concensus(sp) is they stay were they are, i can totally see where your coming from however, i do personally think the stickies need a new look at dont know if the blackpool one is still there but that has happened now and it doesnt need to be there any more...the debt dieter could go aswell

I agreed that there are alot of diaries (my own included!) and that it would be better to have a sticky for them...some read them & sme dont & it can be disheartening for newbies, exp those needing help, when their post is knocked to paged 3 within hours! Having said that its a poular site & you can use the subscribed threads to locate stuff if you want to and I guess we al have a few diaries that we keep a eye on. I find it impossible to keep up with all of them so try to do a few....This has been discussed a few times before and so far it's made no difference in terms of a sticky but you ever know, maybe this time! I'd hate to see them go though as my diary is a real help for me!

I agree too. Diaries are not really my thing as such but i do follow some of them ,some of the time. It does annoy me sometimes ploughing through them to get to new posts and I often thought a sub board especially for diaries would be a good idea. It will probably help the diary-owners too.
Maybe someone can start a poll? (Not sure if "anyone" is allowed to start a poll??)

I also think a sub board would be good, the DFW board is too huge for one area to post in, in my opinion.

Should we have a poll...........in a sticky.....:rotfl:
