Im expecting my 2nd child in about 6 weeks and have a 5yr old already. Was thinking of getting her a little gift bag with some things in to give to her in hospital when baby has arrived, and am looking for suggestions.
Thinking of .. . . . . .
* a disposable camera (or 2!) so she can take her own pics of new baby.
* A magazine that she likes.
* Bag of sweets
What else would you suggest??

concentrating on how important being a big sister is...because that is her new role and she is the only one who can do it, which makes her extra special!!

If you know what sex you are having you could get 2 tops one Big Sister and one Little Brother/Sister. I love the book idea so cute and the camera is an excellent idea what a yummy mummy you areNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Get her something that is off the new baby as well.
I did this when my son was born - she automatically liked him when she found out he had 'bought' her a new dolly! xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

My mum said that when I was born she got my older brother a teddy (a huge humpty dumpty that was bigger than him!) and said it was from his new baby sister. I've always thought it was a nice idea!May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch...:D0

Why not let your little girl choose and bring something for the new baby too (teddy or rattle etc) so that she can prepare to meet the new arrival and then when she comes to the hospital she gets a gift from the baby with the other items you have mentioned.It will be a nice introduction and hopefully this will calm any jealousy issues (just in case).The doll idea is good she can pretend to feed her dolly while you feed the little one.Congrats +good luckLove can tame the wildest0

I think I would parcel together some sweets, a colouring book and some pens, a little dolly, maybe a teddy bear, a book and a few favourite comics, ... I'd put them all in a box and wrap it up in giftwrap with a big bow all zhuzhy and have that at the hospital for when she came to see the new arrival ... then I would say, "And you'll never guess what the baby brought just for you ...!!"
Just a thought, but I have seen those helium balloons with the word "sister" on them ... what about one of those too? The last one I had took a good 3 weeks before it went down!0 -
