Adjuvant Chemotherapy

Has any one gone through adjuvant chemotherapy especiely for ovarian cancer. My pensioner mother is about to face this as they do not think she has any more cancer (both ovarier removed) but the hospital would like it done. What should I expect as her carer as I assume she will need someone as she lives on her own with no phone or transport and her limited neighbours are horrid. Plus she is only on pension credit can she get a carers allowance for me? I am not being mean but I need to get back to work to meet my bills since my cancer (but no chemo) yet the hospital says I will need to look after her due to her situation and I cannot afford to live of thin air. Any advice as to what to expect with her treatment and finances great appreciated,
