Southampton woolworths closing down sale

Options
Sorry if this is already posted or in the wrong place.
Just to say that Tomorrow (Saturday 1st Sept) Woolworths in southampton will be closing their doors for good. They have a sale on nearly all items half price or less. They even have xmas stuff out to get rid of.

It was only announced about 2-3 weeks ago so even the staff didn't have much notice.
I may pop back again in the morning to see what is left..

Just come back from the store, and it really isn't up to much.
The signs indicate that everything is half price, but it's only the stuff with a reduced sticker on.
We found a gnome water feature, last one, box opened - but they wouldn't knock anything off as it's ranged and can be transferred to another store - and this came from a manager!

There are shelves behind the tills piled up with stock that customers have left as they haven't been reduced.

It really isn't worth a special trip, and if you do go be prepared for disappointment.

On the note of Christmas decorations which have been marked half price, these is the same stock that was reduced in January to half price.

They seem to be leading on the opinion that as they're closing down, peoiple will think it's a special discounted price - when it's not.

Ok, that's my pennies worth, and just my opinion - others may feel differently.
  • That saves us a trip out... thanks

Daughter went in yesterday, said there was not much worth having
  • I agree. Went in on Tuesday - all that is reduced is tatty and battered old Christmas stock.

I guess anything worth having will be transfered to the other stores.
