Can I Be Refused to Be Made Bankrupt?

Hi all,
This is my first time on this site, so please accept my apologies if i have posted this in the wrong place.
I have debating about going bankrupt for some time. I have now decided along with information from my local CAB to go bankrupt.
The thing is, i am a little scared that i can be refused to be made bankrupt.
Can they refuse to make someone bankrupt or is it entirley my own decission?
I would be grateful of any info you all have
Many Thanks

Hi, & welcome

The main concerns of the court will be that (a) you've taken professional advice in arriving at your decision to go BR, & (b) you haven't been BR before or have certain circumstances in your SOA that make them think going BR isn't appropriate for you. Very few people are refused a BR order. Why do you think you would be?BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Beckio,
welcome to the site. You're in a good place for support!
Why do you think they might refuse you? That might help us answer your concern. It *can* happen in theory, but usually only when you have money spare!!!!Debt free 4th April 2007.

If bankruptcy was one of the options advised by CAB, then it is extremely unlikely that your petition for bankruptcy will be refused.
Is there anything in particular that makes you think that your bankruptcy would, or could, be refused?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Bankruptcy is NOT a right, but is virtually always granted. Guidelines to Disrict Judges / insolvency service say that ' a person presenting a petition with assetts of £ 4000 or more and with debts of less than £ 40,000 should be considered for refferal to a low cost IP and IVA.'
Ive had clients in that position, and they were made bankrupt anyway.
