Free £250 of Physio if you have a car accident

What's it about?

Heath insurance provider AXA PPP is offering 12 months free vehicle accident physiotherapy cover. The free cover will apply for treatment following a road accident in the UK, and it doesn't matter whether you were a driver or not, passengers and pedestrians are covered too.

If you are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, you'll be eligible for £250 worth of treatment with a physiotherapist or complementary practitioner, until the 12 month policy expires. It doesn't cover you for any type of normal treatment that wasn't as a result of a traffic accident.

How do I get it?

Go to the AXA PPP page where there's a link to an online form. Complete the form and the customer service team will call you back to take more details (don't ring the freephone number as you'll be asked for a reference code).

IMPORTANT! This is just physiotherapy cover following a road traffic accident. Motor insurance is compulsory and this should not replace it. If it's car insurance you want then read the full Cheapest Car Insurance article.

Why is AXA PPP doing this?

When you complete the online form with your name and address, AXA PPP undoubtedly will try and flog you other products at the same time.

Yet to be fair to AXA PPP, it will give you the accident physiotherapy cover by itself no problem; and doesn't request any payment details - so there's no risk it'll try to charge you for it next year.

Get £1 cashback on top!

Hardcore MoneySavers can go an extra mile and actually be paid £1 for taking out this policy. Firstly you'll need to join cashback site Quidco. Search its site for AXA PPP, and you'll find the free physio cover offer. If you take out the policy this way, Quidco will pay you a shiny pound coin. (Quidco charges newcomers a £5 admin fee to cover its costs. If you're going to use a cashback site for the first time, read the Top Cashback Sites article for a full explanation of the pros and cons of doing so; the cashback is usually paid but never guaranteed).

I did this 2 weeks ago, but haven't received the follow-up phone call yet. The £1 is being tracked on Quidco though.
  • It's just a gimmic to get your custom. Anybody involved in a car accident (except maybe a driver at fault) is entitled to claim the cost of any reasonable medical treatment from the driver's insurers. There is no need to have this added to the insurance.

  • I swear I didn't click the wrong link, but this has tracked on Quidco as the Dental Accident Insurance. This happened with anyone else?
