They are free in Scotland anyway:T

Rail
You will receive a voucher entitling you to a free Scottish Youth Rail (SYR) Card.
Take your voucher to your local First Scotrail ticket office along with your new National Entitlement Card. The voucher will be taken from you and exchanged for a SYR Card.
Your youth railcard must be shown along with your National Entitlement Card when you are travelling by rail.
If you are aged 16-18 and already possess a National Entitlement Card as part of the Scotland wide free bus travel scheme for disabled people, you will be sent vouchers for a SYR card. This will be done automatically, so please do not apply for a second National Entitlement Card.0
