hi
can anyone assist.
my mortgage is on a variable with abbey and i wish to change.
the problem is i have one ccj and currently on dmp with payplan, does anyone know or had experience about trying to change their mortgage to a better deal.. ie a good broker or understanding bank (if there is such a thing):rolleyes:

A CCJ will put you on a much higher rate I would see if Abbey can repackage it for you fixed before you change lenders to be honest.
For example without a CCJ I had to go with specialised lender and am on 8.4%0 -
trouble is i have been with abbey for years, well before my problems started so they are not aware. if they tried to re package would they do all the checks and therefore either refuse or could they increase my current mortgage rate on thr info they find0

You may be better staying put then really it is going to cost you more in the long run.
You could pop this post on the mortgage board and see what they say.0 -
I don't think they will run a check on you if you are just changing deals. I used to be with the abbey and it used to be one quick phone call. They would give me the deals over the phone, I'd say which I wanted and that was that (and I had a small CCJ towards the end of my time with them).
