it's a shame dell have altered the way they sell computers on ebay as i and many others picked up bargains along the way.
the vostro looks good but i would definitely upgrade the battery0 -
Older computers are good value and are fine for normal web browsing and office stuff IMO.
I recently picked up a x21 Thinkpad laptop (P3 700 Mhz) off ebay for £21. I put in a 7200rpm hardrive i got off ebay for £28 and a £25 256mb memory upgrade (off crucial via quidco) and it's pretty quick generally.
I also recently started using linux (you pay for windows with new pcs, it;s just included so you don't realise how much) and nthink it's great. Installed 1st time on my laptop and everything works fine.0
