dont ask me where im going with this as ive no idea. but im hoping il find someone like me.lost 6 stone 7 years ago and lost it so quick my skin dont fit my bones, but thats done now so too late to cry about it. i go to the gym 3.4 times a week but body looks no diffrent due to the skin.ive never been small but am still bmi of 25 which is the top end and have been stuck at this weight for all thses years no matter what i do. the only time i lost a xtra 5pounds was when i was really ill, but as soon as health improved it went straight back. i suffer from periods of bulimia which ive gained some control of and have only done it twice this month and not for 3months previous to that.ive ate 5 mini chocolate bars tonight which i have pined for all day and now feel discusting.but didnt feel i wanted to make myself sick .i think about my size constantly and my doctors no help as he thinks i look great and says my weights fine as it is, so what do i do? find another way to loose the weight, or except what i am??, thanks for reading my drivvlexxxxxwendy

well done on losing all that weight, that is a great achievement.Have you asked your doc about plastic surgery for the loose skin?I know that's sometimes a solution:p

Have you ever had any counselling about your weight issues? I think I would try the GP again and explain how you are feeling, try not to let him interrupt with how he sees you because clearly being told you look OK is not enough to stop you feeling bad about yourself. If you've had issues with bulimia and don't want them to recur, then counselling would seem a reasonable place to start to me.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I can completly sypathise with you! You've done marvelously (sp) well I've lost two stone and now, like you have a bmi of 25 but I just want to lose that little bit more. It's so frustrating like now im all motivated but tomorrow I will do all the normal regime and then at the end of the week i'll see no results and it jsut disheartens me. I'm stuck on 13 11 now and desperatly want to get down to 13 which is acceptable for my height (6' 2") or maybe we're just supposed to weight this much! I know I have gone through a mild bout of anorexia where I wouldnt eat one day a week and I can still feel it creeping up on my now. Peeps laugh when I say anorexia because im not exaclty FAT but not skinny either but they don't realise that anorexia can happen to anyone of any size and any weight.Merry Christmas MSE!0

Just bear in mind that you have done an amazing job keeping the weight off, very few people manage this so well done!
If you're exercising regularly then a bmi of 25 might not be as 'bad' as you think, don't forget muscle weighs a lot more than fat and many athletes have bmis well into the overweight category. Personally as a heading towards 30bmi i'd love to be back at 25.
And maybe the weight you're at is just your natural weight...

i can sympathise with u.. i have lost over 8.5 stone and no matter how many times people tell me i look good i can still see the pockets of fat and saggy skin
i dont have any answers for u except to say it is a mindset somehow we have to make ourselves belive we look good (not sure how u do it tho)
do u have people around u who can tell u ??... do u have some old clothes from when u are big u can put on?... these are a couple of the things i do altho its still not enuff... i get given clothes by people who say they are too big i put them on and they fit but i still think iam bigger then those people
i even considered the plastic surgery route but a) i am too cowardly to put myself thru it and b) i am not sure i wouldnt see more problems elsewhere
sorry i cant be of more help but just to let u know u arent alone in the way u feel

please don't get hung up on the numbers - BMI etc are only a very vague guide to overall health etc. If you're at the gym a lot then you'll have a higher proportion of muscle to fat so your BMI may be at the higher end but your body fat is likely to be in a healthy range. Also if you're projecting future happiness onto 'when I'm X weight I'll be happy' then you'll always feel like you've failed. You've made major changes to your body that will have a long term positive impact on your health - give yourself a break and congratulate yourself!
I would second seeing someone about your body image though - it's always good to have help to see yourself positively. If you ever watch the channel 4 programme with Gok whatsis name then you'll see you're not alone in not being happy with your body but there are ways of seeing yourself positively and making the most of your great figure.0
