Plan Your Walking Route Around London

Just seen this nifty site; Walk It will provide you with a walking route, including the journey time between them, between any two points in London.
It tells you the distance, how long it will take depending on whether you walkat a slow, medium or fast pace and the calories burnt. Plus it will also tell you the amount of carbon dioxide you avoided by walking instead of using your car or public transport.

I've just tried the Walk It site to plan a route between two places that I walked between in Birmingham last week. It not only gives a printable map, but also written directions that include street names, distances walked along each and names of shops, banks, petrol stations etc that you pass to help you find and keep your bearings.
On this evidence it seems a useful package.
I'll road test it in London tomorrow and feed back here.0 -
It's good, but it won't show you any routes that avoid roads.0

Another site you could look at if you know your route but would like to know distance, pace, number of calories burnt etc is www.walkjogrun.net it will probably show you a map of America to start with, just type in your postcode or town and it will take you to Britain.0

(only kidding)
4x4 always makes me think of wood!
Don't drive... I'm in London there is no point - I walk faster than the traffic at 'rush hour'!

I'm not sure what browser you are using (e.g. Internet Explorer or Firefox or Opera) but I know that for Firefox I required Java & Flash plug ins to view the map. It's a very detailed map, if you zoom in!
