Dry eye ? Any OS treatments ?

My optician has told me that the reason my eyes have suddenly taken to watering a lot is - oddly - because I have 'dry eye' and need to keep my eyes lubricated with drops. She suggested some drops which come in a simply tiny bottle which cost nearly £6 and goes 'off' very quickly, so I can see this is going to add a lot to my monthly spend. Does anyone know of a (safe, of course) OS remedy that I can use instead of having to buy these expensive drops ?

  • I'm an optician but not really allowed to give advice about treatments on here.

If you are entitled to free prescriptions you can ask your GP to put artificial tears on your prescription.
