Good afternoon lovely DFWs

Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anythng else.

Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!!

Moozie x

  • Good Morning Everybody,

Well, I had a good week last week - pledged £10 and only spent £2 but (here's the shameful bit) most of that £2 was spent on chocolate :o Mmmm, could that be why I haven't lost any weight this week?

Now, this is my chance to redeem myself, I've decided to give up smoking :T and I'm going to use the £8 I saved to buy patches (I noticed Sainbury had them on special offer for £7.99 - how spooky is that? And I'll still have 1p left over :p )

This week I'm going to pledge £10 again but I'm really aiming not to spend any of that and definately noooo chocolate!!!! :D

    Good luck everyone.

Could i join this challenge for the first time?

Will try for £15 this week and see how it goes! Am meeting friends tonight, and also know I need to add £5 this week because at work we have planned to put in £5 a year each to cover birthday cards etc, so need to allow for that too. Otherwise should be able to manage the week without spending too much!

    Good luck all

    It's been awful - a terrible realisation....

I thought I'd become quite money savvy in recent months, thanks to using this site - but doing this challange showed me that my spending is still out of control.

I set myself a target of £15. Well:

monday - bought a can of diet coke and paket of quavers at work:1.00
    tuesday - didn't take packed lunch - £3.50
weds - colleague back from hols so we had a pub lunch - 7.20
    thursday - bought a magazine and choc bar & scratchcard - 4.45
    played lottery - £2.00
saturday - drinks from vender while ds at gymnastics - 1.60

Plus there were other little unbudgeted spends - but I can't even remember, so that just shows how good I am.:naughty:

This week I am going to budget for £25.00 and pay closer attention to what I am spending.:A

But for this week - turn me red please :o

My target was £45.00 and i spent £42.55, so came just under my target :T.

I don't get paid until Friday, so could you put me down for a target of £35 for next week please? xx

My spends today were £32.69 on the main weekly grocery shop, though there are a few fresh bits to get & soya milk during the week.

Time for me to try & get back into the swing of budgeting again now too! :A

I am off to a wedding on Thursday (it's actually on Friday but I am travelling out there Thursday night) so I have a few appointments this week for girlie pampering sessions in preparation for it! :o

I am going to have a stab at a budget challenge for the week to include these appointments, top up shopping, train fare, Euros (must remember to buy Euros!) bus fare to work & some hair stuff I probably need to order this week as well.

So.....my challenge is, not more than £150.

I know that's a lot but there is a lot to pay for this week.

I am hoping the week after will be a lot lot less!

    Good luck everyone.

    LA xxxx

EDIT: Bought those hair products online that I needed too but got £5 off & free delivery. Total £32.

Hi PaP - I'm back on the challenge, this week. :j :j I'm back working in London, so am looking for a target of £40 please.

Today I had to go to Tesco, for bread and milk (2 loaves for £1 + £1.15 for milk). Could not resist the smell of the bacon, from the cafeteria, so ended up spending another £1.59 on a breakfast (which I thoroughly enjoyed).
So total spend today £3.64. :):)

    Cheers PaP
