I have just become self employed, but thankfully i have a nice local tax office, who made me an appointment with a member of staff on a one to one basis, they were very helpful and explained everything very simply to me.Hope this helps.0

There is no endless bureacracy. Phone up Self Employed helpline and register. Thats it, job done. Keep a set of accounts and complete a self assessment once a year.0
