THE BIG BRAND COMPANY
Has anyone used them successfully before?0 -
I wouldnt touch the lord of the deals with a barge pole - they are a bunch of fraudulent crooks - I ordered what they were advertising as 4 speed dvdr and when they arrived they would only write at 1 speed on any writer using any firmware using any software - when I informed them there reply was tough! - if you want a refund you will have to send them back at your expense and when we have thoroughly tested them you will get a partial refund for those not used and you will have to pay for the postage back to you again! - the most arrgoant sarchastic so called retailer i have ever had the misfortune to deal with...0

Buying cheap DVD media is usually a false economy. The dyes used on such discs are usually of very low quality and whilst the disc may work for a few months you will slowly start to get errors on them to the point they cannot be played in DVD players. If anyone doubts view this read the reviews/comments at the https://www.disqworld.net forums
Best to pay a few pounds more for a decent branded disc like Verbatim.0 -
bigman3....I agree entirely. That's why I chose a disk with Mitsubishi Chem. dye which everyone inc. the following site says is a first class dye....
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
....in fact this is the dye that Verbatim returned to after their disastrous experience with CMC dyes a couple of years ago.
Best to pay a few pounds more for good quality disks....and then watch out for bargain delivery charge days.0 -
Agreed. MSE is all about cutting costs but not cutting back. Using low quality media will only cause problems as highlighted by bigman3.
SVP have a 99p shipping offer on at the moment, minimum order is £30 but there's no harm in stocking upThey sell verbatim discs for around 31p each, and some good quality cheaper brands also.
And on top of all that, SVP guarantee all their discs for 1 year. No-brainer, really0 -
Personally, I'd avoid Lord of the Deals. The one order I made resulted in me having to do a chargeback through my credit card company - they had misdescribed goods and didn't respond to my emails. Luckily my credit card co. got me all of my money back.
Full marks to SVP though, the only place I use0 -
Dunno if your guys know but Tesco are knocking out there own branded DVD+R/ - on a BOGOF deal, 50 for £9.97!
According to some other sites these disks use the Ritek GO4 dye, means nowt to me im a dvd media virgin but most says they are good quality media. They burn like a dream in my Amazon cheapie Pikaone DL jobbie....So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0 -
but there's no harm
normally there is harm because media gets cheaper.0
