Pay As You Go phone £4.99

Just seen a great deal in our local Somerfield. Not sure if this is a nationwide offer, but they were today selling Motorola Pay As You Go phones for £4.99.

Big display board saying it was a clearance deal. Doesn't appear to be any catch. Note, it's not a colour screen, but for that price, who cares.

which network are they for?

Not sure which network. On the display boards, it had logo's for Virgin mobile, Vodafone and orange, just to confuse everyone. My guess is that these phones may be sim free, but without buying one couldn't be sure (I already have a mobile, but was very tempted to 'upgrade' my cheap and nasty Sendo.

It was in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. Note they are in the glass cases close to the checkouts, which I presume would be a similar layout in the rest of their stores.
