Heya, wonder if anyone can help me..
(I'm new so I am really sorry if this is on the wrong board!) :embarasse
I am moving into a new flat early sept and wanted to make a hamper for my partner.. sort of a 'moving in with me' slash new home hamper...
I have read Roz_V's thread the index on hampers but can't really find what I want..
Anybody have any ideas that could fit this theme? I don't really know what to put in it.. and does anyone know anywhere I can get cheap things that would suite theme?

1st thought would be a key-ring since it is a "new home" you can some which are in 2 keyrings and when you put them together they make a heart.
I would also add a few moving in day essentials i.e. snacks, juice/wine and plastic glasses etc as I have found these things hard to find on moving day!
A set of house rules?! lol sorry after 9 years together hubby still leaves dirty clothes everywhere :rotfl: no matter how many times I explain the exact location of the laundry baskets...
Contratulations on your new home - there is nothing more exciting!
Stuck for ideas now - I am sure there will be others along with some wonderful ideas soon0 -
Ooo.. that keyring idea is a really good idea! I never would have thought of that.. like the 'me to you bear' ones or something.. thats lovely..

what about vouchers (or cash equivalent) for a local restaurant/takeaway or something so the evening you move in you could go out to eat or get takeaway and not have to worry about cooking.
What about some of those rubber gloves that aggie wears on how clean is your house. If he is anything like mine he can barely find the kitchen to put his dirty dishes in let alone find the sink to wash them in. Those gloves are perfect with the leopard fur trim and jewellery. Tesco did have some in around xmas time not sure if they still around.

How about some lemons, bicarb of soda, stardrops, soda crystals and microfibre cloths as your cleaning supplies?
Come to OS to find out how to use them!0 -
How about their own toothbrush/razor
Apron/oven gloves if they like cooking
Mug and slippers :rolleyes:Wise men talk because they have something to say, Fools because they have to say something0 -
A few ideas:
A hand decorated or embellished picture frame to go in the new lounge OR one of you that you know he likes to go on his bedside table.
A special picture for the living room in a theme he likes, I once got a stunning gothic wax dragon off ebay by an artist who did it especially for me (well him) and that went down an absolute treat.
A photo album or memo book entitled "our first album" ready for all your new pics.
A new alarm clock if he uses one or an ashtray if he smokes - bedside table kind of things!
Re: Cheapness I'd have a wander round you local poundstretcher or QD's and see what takes your fancy. You can get all sorts of household essentials at really low prices in those sorts of stores. That said, I'm a Tesco fan me (don't shoot me I'm poor).0 -

Those are all really good ideas but none of them really suite my situation...
I have already handpainted us about 5 picture frames, painted him 3 paintings of us, we already have a scrap book and he uses his phone as an alarm! lol..
This really isn't as easy as I thought it would be
