Having taken a car from the above company in Jan im paying back 209.00 per month for a car that i feel the paayment is far too high. Having had some Financial problems in the past i contacted this company and were accepted.
Having started employment in a new job i gave them my current salary slips of three months. To my Horror once i had recieved the car my employers told me they had made a mistake with my salary and were about to loose a further 300 pound off my monthly salary. This would then prove difficult for me for me to afford the payments of 209.00 per month.I contacted Welcome finance to see if they could reduce the payments, to which they declined.Does anyone have any advice to what i can do to pay the finance off and which loan company would help. This is so frustrating and worrying knowing the agreement is over four years. Please can some one help

Give the car back, get one you can afford.

Seriously, this is one of the ways I got into trouble and it's not pretty. If you're having some money troubles you don't need an expensive car and £200 a month over 4 years is expensive. Ditch it, get something cheaper.

National Debtline have information on how to deal with hire purchase debt and how you can give the car back if that's what you want to do. http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/
  • We have a car by Welcome and want to give our car back to be able to have more income for a mortgage. Welcome will not consider lower payments nor will they end the contract unless we pay half of what is left to pay, which we cant afford to do. If you find a way with them, let me know :)

You have the right to end the agreement, check out the nationaldebtline website and/or call them.

We are having big troubles at the moment with Welcome. See Post. We asked if we could voluntarily give back our car. As My hub lost his job and missed a payment early on in the agreement (we had contacted Welcoms and advised them of our situation before the payment was missed) we have been told that we cannot now give the car back?? does anyone know different?

    Hi

They just provided the loan that the garage asked for!

The garage no longer exists! Course they dont want the car - theyd prefer the £3400!!! wouldnt we all?

We have been racking our brains over what to do....doo we trash the car? get it written off and use the wonderful insurances that we are paying for to cough up the outstanding.. Trouble is - will they now smell a rat???

This is totally unfair - we cant afford another £3400 after they have already had 2 years worth of payments. As far as we were aware - that loan was only for 2 years. No-one in their right mind would sign up for a 2 grand loan to pay 8 grand back over 4 years.

"trashing the car and using the wonderful insurances" would in fact lead to nothing more than no car and a possible conviction for fraud. believe it or not insurance companies would investigate incidents such as this quite thoroughly.

do you have the original agreement? i suggest you go to citizens advice with it.

Have been trying to obtain copy of original agreement as one wasnt issued at the time. Welcome seem to be dragging their heels in sending one out!
