I have been sent the full details but couldn't see what the length of guarantee was - any idea?

It says three years in a little box on the bottom right of the page. I'm not sure how it would work though - swap out or return to base - probably the latter.

Well I've just been on the Dell website and customised an Inspiron 1501 to roughly the same hardware spec and it's come out at £575.86, albeit with their excellent 3year onsite warranty, but with a lower spec optical drive and no software bundle, so it's horses for courses really. I'd still say the Medion was certainly not overpriced for what it offers.

Still trying to get some joy from Medion after my laptop developed a motherboard fault that woul;d have cost more than the laptop to repair. I had a 90 day warranty as it was refurbished. However, these people refuse to acknowledge my statutory rights and I might have to call trading standards for the first time ever. Be aware they don't like helping people.

I bought a Medion base unit from Aldi with their 3 year "Repair-at-Site" warranty.

Used it once only for a faulty DVD Burner that did not accept new media (that burned fine in another PC). They came out and replaced it - no fuss at all.

I got the Dell and it is nowhere near the Medion spec.

    This has a dual core processor, 1,024MB DDR2 SDRAM(Dell 512mb), 120Gb hard drive(Dell 40Gb), larger screen, 3 year warranty(Dell 90 days) better graphics, card reader.

The Dell was a bargain and meets my needs for a laptop(and I suspect for most people) However this is equally a bargain.

i beg to differ, i got the 1501 from dell for £329 with a Turion x2 TL50, 1gb ram and 120gb hdd. pretty much exactly the same spec. dell always do the odd silly deal but only lasts for a few days. i'm sure if you look on the forums on hotukdeals then you will find the original thread regarding the 1501 from dell.

I would be interested if it didn't have an AMD processor.
