My Money Saving Day!

Options
Well, what an influence this website has had on me. Yesterday, my money saving day was this:

- Had a lovely lie in (free!) as no work today!
- Spent ages wandering around the MSE forums, picking up tips. Linked to Radio 2 music player (saves having laptop and radio on)
- Post arrived - free foundation, pet food measures, free fishing guide to Wales (for OH), Impulse thrill dice.
- Also in post, some recipes from Granny to make cheap and cheerful meals.
- Credit card arrived (needed to boost credit score) - linked that to my Nectar card to collect points towards christmas shop.
- Lunch - cheese and onion toastie on the GF grill (bought since reading on here)
- Went to Matalan (sale on), bought a pair of trews for hols next month for £2, some aftersun (half price), and mossie repellent spray (half price).
- At Kwiksave, bought a jamaica Ginger cake and some custard (both on special offer, half price) to put in cupboard, ready to make Ginger trifle (recipe from MSE forum) when I find some cream on special offer.
- Tea - Cheesy mash and beans (all items bought on special offer), with fruit for afters.
- Watched a DVD borrowed from a friend.

What a satisfying day! Coming on here regularly has made me so much more aware of what I spend and do, and will hopefully enable me to get through this month intact (after shock tax deduction from this month's payslip).

So thank you :T to everyone who posts on here on any subject - not only does it help the OP, but provides guidance and ideas for us all.

What sort of MoneySaving day have you had?
"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Enlisted the ex's help to rip up the old decking - FOC

Got quote for timber shed base and delivery - £21.45 for timber and £20 + vat for delivery - Drove to Homebase and got a larger piece of timber cut into three pieces so it would fit in my car - total cost £13.49

Also had been thinking about getting a sewing machine but quibbling over spending the money as I'm useless with them and wanted a basic model that I could learn on - JML had little ones for sale in Homebase for £19.99 so I invested in one of those instead.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
