Save your colleagues cash - Get a MoneySavingExpert.com mention on your work intranet

What's this about?

Many companies operate an intranet, a private website that only employees can see. It would be fantastic if MoneySavers could recommend that MoneySavingExpert.com is linked to from your intranet, so your workmates or even your bosses can save themselves some dosh too!

How can I get it on my work's intranet?

Speak to your Human Resources department. They're usually the folks who operate the intranet, and decide what information is put up there. So, saunter up there and sweet-talk them; tell them how this website has helped you, how much you have saved and that you think it would benefit other employees.

Depending on your charm and powers of persuasion, this will hopefully work. A link in the bookmarks, or a MSE mention anywhere on the intranet will hopefully help save loads of your firm's employees money.

Report your technique!

If you're successful, please reply to this thread and let others know how you managed to convince your HR department, whether it's a big smile, casual flirting, or being as bold as brass!

Thanks for trying folks. Getting the MoneySaving message out there is never easy, your help is appreciated.

Martin :)

  • I work for the BBC and we have a kind of discussion forum on the intranet. I posted a new topic 'Moneysaving' and told everyone about the site. There are currently 22,683 BBC staff signed up and using the forum so hopefully that'll boost publicity quite a bit!

I work for the local council. I'm going to email the comms team tomorrow. They can only say no.... Or tell me to put it on the staff noticeboard with the HAVE YOU SEEM MY CAT posts.

Ok, they told me to put it up on the staff noticeboard webpage - so I did.

I used a fake name though - otherwise my department will take the mick. They probably know it's me anyway because I'm always going on about this website. :p

I work for a mortgage broker, and I often mention the site to clients. Work would probably frown on any internal email recommendation, but i do my bit to spread the word about this site. :)

I work for Network Rail and this site is often mentioned in the forums. That was how I first discovered here many moons ago
