blood trials 1970s/1980s?

Sorry this is a long shot but I'm trying to get some information for someone.

Has anyone seen any recent news report, or read anything in the papers about a public investigation into some clinical trials for some blood products that took place in the 1970s/1980s?

I can't say too much as I'm looking for this info on behalf of someone who is desperate for soem information, she says she caught the tail end of a news report a few days ago and is tyring to track down any reports or anything to do with this investigation.

I've googled using the search words that seem appropriate but can't see anything, so she is either mistaken or I'm not looking in the right place, and I tend to think it is the latter.

Lastly can i apologise if anyone does find any info and I don't thank them for a few days. I am going away so will have to catch up when I get back Sunday, or on a borrowed PC meanwhile.
