Win a diamond pendant worth £1,000

Two hundred years after her death, we are still in the grip of Jane Austen-mania. Last Friday saw the opening of Becoming Jane, a Hollywood biopic about Austen’s flirtation with an unsuitable young man, while ITV is unveiling a new series of television adaptations, beginning with Mansfield Park, starring Billie Piper, on Sunday March 18.

Mansfield Park will be available to buy on DVD from March 19, and another new ITV production, Northanger Abbey, starring Felicity Jones, from March 26. ITV DVD is also releasing the Jane Austen collection, which includes the classic production of Emma starring Kate Beckinsale alongside these two new adaptations.

To celebrate, TimesOnline is giving away five copies of the Jane Austen collection, worth £39.99 each. We have also joined forces with Quality Diamonds, one of Britain's largest online retailers of certified diamonds, to offer the first prize winner a diamond pendant, worth £1,000.

To be in with a chance of winning, answer this question:

What is the name of the heroine in Mansfield Park?

A- Fanny Price

Send the answer, your name, address, e-mail address and daytime telephone number to: women@timesonline.co.uk. Please include the words Jane Austen competition in the e-mail subject line.

Good luck :D

No offence monsieur espargnant but this is getting a big spammy now. Maybe you could post on the competitions discussion thread or something and explain what it is you're posting about.

Most of the time those links can be made to prefill by copying the shortcut rather than just copy and pasting the text into the OP.

  • I thought it would save everyone time by not getting lost in multiple windows and trying to copy/paste address then coming back to the original post again for the answer.

Just to be clear all I'm doing on these posts is putting a link where the comp specifies to place a certain subject in the header and the OP hasn't provided one in their link. I've been caught out numerous times by only noticing in the T&C's after entering that a certain 'subject' is required. I thought I'd help others by simplifying the process.

  • And all I did was a quick google of 'basic html' and found the following:

    http://www.pageresource.com/html/mail.htm

It won't display on here as it's html code so just go to the above page for an explanation.

Sorry if I caused any grief by my numerous posts. I didn't like the idea of telling people there was an easier way and them think I was telling them off so I just became a man of action (saw a freebie screening of 300 last night and felt inspired.. minus the blood and guts!)

Ok, I get ya. It was just a little annoying, as you seemed to be posting the same thing over and over and I didn't understand what it was... I agree it's probably worth mentioning if the OP hasn't given those details because it is easy to miss.
