Prudential With Profits Bond

I have held one of these for several years & was thinking of cashing it in but am confused by reports in today's Sunday Times Money Section that holders may eventually be entitled to a share of Prudential's profits that have been earmarked for shareholders, rather than With Profits Bond holders. Can anybody please enlighten me as to whether it's worth hanging onto, and until when?

I still have three Pru WP bonds on my books. They are averaging in excess of 10% a year and the clients arent interested in surrendering them.

The dispersal of orphan assets follows Norwich Union who are planning to do the same in 2008 (although that may get delayed until 2009). You should be looking at a 2 year timescale for this to occur and the amounts are not yet known.

If your investment is not performing as you wish, then I wouldnt hold back and wait for this payment. Most people who invested for demutualisations in the past lost more money than they would have gained by moving to better, more modern, investments. If you are happy with the investment, it may just be worth holding on.
