Storage for plastic bags

I am wondering if anyone knows of a template for a storage sleeve for keeping plastic bags in.

I have them all crammed in a box in the corner of my Dining Room at the moment and have seen these sleeves around but wondered if there was a template anywhere to make one. I have some spare material I could use.

Thanks for the help.

    Hi debjam,

It's not a template but this website suggests cutting the sleeve of and old shirt and hemming each end with thin elastic.

thanks for that it has given me an idea of what I can do. My husband is always moaning about long sleeves on his shirts so he may now have some short sleeved shirts.

just cut a rectangle of fabric just over the lenght and width you want your bag store to be, hem each end, sew stretched elastic about 2 inches in from each end, then sew right side out all along the long side, turn the right was out and add a loop at one end to hang up with and hey presto bag store thingy!!

I use an empty tissue box to store my small plastic bags. They don't last that long, but usually they hold up until the next box becomes available ;)
  • Empty pringles tubes are great I can get about 12 carrier bags in one and they just fit nicely in my drawer.

Just as a thought, some of the supermarkets have large containers to recyle them in. Maybe just keep some and recylcle the rest? I also give some to charity shops when I am passing them.
