help - freezing pork pie

Options
We were given a large pork pie (rectangle and about as long as a newborn baby!) Anyway I don't like it so it would only be OH eating it and I really don't think he will get through it all.

Are there any other uses for it? Can it be frozen?

  • Have a buffet party!!

Seriously, I dont think it would freeze very well and cant think of anything else you could do with it, apart from eating it as it is. Sorry...

Tempted to agree with Hippo - I think I would get a few friends round for the evening and share it! :p

However, if this is not an option, I would definitely try and freeze it - its better than letting it go to waste...and if you defrost it and it turns out to be horrible, at least you can know that you tried...!!! ;)

  • My family visitors have today consumed a Pork Pie I froze last November, no complaints and it tasted just like a PP to me as well.

I'm sure I have seen frozen pork pies at Iceland, the dinky buffet ones.

Have a look on their site as i may well have dreamt this. :rotfl:

Make sure you cut it up before freezing.....I know what will be in OH's lunch from now on.

Thanks. I will try cutting a whole load of slices and freezing them. If they don't taste good when he comes to eating them I will just bin them.
