It says no photocopies - I doubt they'd accept that as a certificate :( good find though.

There was an advert for this on tv, I'm going to go get a trial pair of the moist version, although I seriously doubt I will actually start buying them as they are well over double the price of my normal lenses!
  • Opticians wont charge for the contact lenses that are used in a trial / fitting anyway, so if there are other brands you wanted (cheaper ones) just ask and you can try a pair.

The print off voucher etc is more to make people aware its available.

I tried https://www.daysoft.co.uk as they have Free Trial lenses with every order and their prices are better than anyone else that I have come across.

If you look at their 'what our wearers say' page (or its called something like that anyway) a lot wearers like me say prefer daysoft so might be worth a try.

    Hi,

I have more of a general question but figure this is the best place to post it. I need a new eye test and am looking to order contact lenses online. Is it possible to use the voucher from D&A and then just use that to order lenses online, or do you need a specific eye test for ordering contact lenses? I tried contacts about 5 years ago and went through the whole fittings thing with the lady at specsavers but I don't remember if the test itself was actually different to a normal eye test. Any help is appreciated :)

No, you need a specific contact lens examination an eye test won't be sufficient as an sight test won't take your BC and Dia into consideration. hth

Thanks, I haven't seen any special offers for them. Do you know which places are generally cheaper for that examination?
  • I'm also looking for a free or cheap contact lens prescription but haven't had much luck. I've called the following for a quote and Specsavers is so far the cheapest:

    £20 - Specsavers
    £25 - Boots
    £35 - Vision Express
    £35 - Dolland & Aitchison
£50 - David Clulow (although £30 refundable if you take out their scheme)

Let me know if you hear of anything cheaper! Shame the D&A free eyetest doesn't include a contact lens assessment.
