I am hoping to make my own chicken shish kebabs, like the ones from the kebab shop. Does anybody know what kind of chilli sauce the kebab shops use and where I can get something similar?

You could try costco ?
A Delia Online poster suggests the following.
2-3 red chillis
half a medium Spanish onion
salt
tin of chopped tomatoes (Napolina)

Does anyone have a good recipe to recreate that chilli sauce you get from a kebab shop, please? Got to stop wasting money on the greasy, unhealthy Friday night take out!
