Thanks

Arguably there's a better system for £399 over at Aria:

Aria AXL Fusion Home 3200 url=http://www.aria.co.uk/NewDisplaySystems.asp?BrandID=15]click here then on the View button in line with Computer Shopper Feb 2007 review.[/I

* AMD Athlon 64 3200+ AM2
* 18X DVDRW
* 2x PC2-5400 Elixir DDR2 SDRAM [1GB - see Review]
* 200GB HDD SATA 2
* Arianet MIDI Tower3 Blk/Sil ATX2.0
* MSI K9VGM-V Socket AM2
* Microsoft Wireless Optical 1000
* Microsoft Wireless Mouse
* On-Board Graphics
* OnBoard Sound
* 19'' TFT Monitor [widescreen - see Review]
* Microsoft XP Home OEM + Vista

The main downside compared to the Curry's system is the onboard graphics. G

Couldn't agree more Goofy!

Anyone who has purchased the Comet pc I would take it back and get a refund!!!

Have a read of this

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/shopper/labs/228/399-pcs/products.html

For the full review which is very indepth buy Feb2007 computer shopper.

The Aria review system wipes the floor with the Comet system. There are over £200-£300 of better components in it.

and to be fair the 128MB ATi Radeon X200 Graphics is such a pathetic GFX card your not going to be able to run any decent games on it anyhow!

I would go as far as saying the Aria onboard gfx would be comparible if not better than the x200!

For an entry level gaming card I would start minimum at

Agreed. It's hard to tell how good the Currys PC will be because it doesn't actually mention what components are in it, which usually means it's the cheapest nastiest ones. And there's no point going for a proper GFX card over onboard graphics if neither are gonna run what you want anyway. Personally, I'd never bother with a computer from any of the high street stores. They're horribly overpriced and generally cut corners at every available opportunity. And in my experience online manufacturers tend to have far better telephone support (except Microdirect - never buy anything off them, they're the worst company I've ever had to deal with and they still owe me £100 worth of kit), and often give you an onsite warranty for at least a year.

Please let me know how you managed that - does it normally come with free delivery? My neighbour's on the verge of purchasing it & would like to know. G
