I know the kids round here have been going mad about Floam, seems to be the new 'thing' instead of playdoh, but this is a homemade version :)

PS anyone got a good playdoh recipe I have lost mine :(
One day I might be more organised...........

    Cooked Playdough

    1 cup salt
    2 cups flour
    4 teaspoons cream of tartar
    2 tablespoons of oil
    2 cups of water
    food colouring

Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan over a medium heat stirring continuously until dough forms. Tip onto surface, allow to cool then knead. Store in an airtight container. Will keep for ages.

Thanks Joey, I have kept a seperate pan for it as I have stuck it to a good pan before, makes a nasty mess when you put it on too hot.

Hahaha can't say I've ever done that!!!! That's the one I always make my kids and it really is a good one and does last forever!!!! (I do always cook it on the lowest heat though - just realised!)

    Also - Gloop

Cornflour + Water...... Add enough water to cornflour to make thick paste. Stays solid until you touch it/pick it up then melts through your fingers!!!

Magic Model Mix - (haven't treid this one.)

    2 cups salt
    3/4 cup of water
    1 cup of cornflour
    1/2 cup of water
Mix salt with water, stir over medium heat 3-4 mins until bubbles form. Remove from heat and add other ingredients and stir quickly. If it doesn't thicken, heat for another inute. Knead and keep ijn airtight container. Will harden in 36 hours or can be baked at 350/gas4 , can then be painted.

    thanks for this

I always used to make play dough for my girls but they seem to have "grown out" of it now, so this will be a new twist!

great for days like today, as both have colds and it's pouring with rain!
    weaving through the chaos...
