No I haven't but I have found 'bits' to go IN the hampers for people. Scarves for £2, funny socks for 50p and M&S smelly stuffs for £1. Might get other things for others but will stick with those bits and pieces in a small hamper for people at work.

i went to a large woolworths yesterday and they had tons of baskets/hampers in the sale ranging from £2.50 to £25.00. some with lining some without. they had some really nice ones in a white wicker too that i bought but as yet dont know what i am going to put in it, but couldnt resist
  • I looked for some baskets to start on doing some hampers for next Christmas... decided for the teens I am going to do some for... to buy some large cardboard boxes ( like the ones you get in QS for keeping videos in) and then cover them in pictures of the interests that the teens have got.. ie one is in a band so for hers Im covering it in pictures of musical instruments.. and song lyrics. ....might be an idea for others to do as well?

Sorry to butt into your thread pixie, but has anyone seen pink gingham lined wicker baskets anywhere please?
  • They have a sort of lilac coloured gingham in Poundland.

Anyway, never mind where we can get the baskets from, HAS ANYONE ANY ADVICE FOR STORING THE FLIPPING THINGS UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

(My husbands threw a wobbly when he saw me come home with yet another armful of baskets).

As a non-sewer, I would tend to buy some pink gingham and some iron-on hemming stuff and make some small squares to lay inside the basket.

Thanks rose_sparky yes I think that would be the cheapest option. I must live in the only town without a Poundland, wish we had one.
