OS Daily Thread - New Year's Eve 31/12/06

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 31st December 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
I've had 4 hours sleep and that seems to be my lot tonight, so I've given up, grabbed a cuppa, the lappy and I'm watching Xmas day's "Doc Martin".
Got the house sorted/cleaned yesterday although didn't take any deccies down. May do some today - heck, may take them ALL down
Have a mountain of ironing to do, but as it's in the bedroom and Mr TM isn't having trouble sleeping, that's where it will stay for now
Probably be eating the last of the leftovers today - from the party not xmas day. TBH, I don't think there's a lot left and it's nice to eat "normal" things like beans on toast for lunch
Anyway, brain's not in gear yet, so I'll drink my tea and have a surf. Catch ya later and ((hugs)) as needed.

:hello: Goooooooood Morning fellow OS’ers
First chance I’ve had to get on MSE for a while so haven’t caught up with everyone’s news yet.
Had a wonderful Christmas away, all things considered; the only down side being that my friend J was taken into the hospice after all the celebrations were done and dusted but we’re optimistic that once her pain is under control she’ll be home again.
Everyone was delighted with their personalised throws I’d made and I was relieved that the final one was finished literally just minutes before I left! The scarves were a real hit too!!
Still in celebrations mode in Queenieland so it’s still busy, busy, busy! Today I’d planned a shopping trip, but youngest has asked if we can have an “at home” day and to be honest, I think we all need it! So, instead, I plan to get some housework done, plus one wash load and a bit of ironing to get on with. I want to make up a batch of carpet fresh powder (have a lovely set of essential oils I can play with) and I need to make some bread; feels like ages since I’ve made any!
Intend to have a nice pampering session this afternoon with some of the goodies Santa filled my stocking with. It’s all very well going away but nothing beats having a good soak in your own bath!
Also need to sort out the Bluetooth thingywotsit but my mind is techie challenged so it may mean a trip to the techie board if things don’t go to plan(A reminder to the boys to keep their heads down might be in order
)
Have some leftovers which need giving a make over today so not too much work to be done on the cooking front.
Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve everyone and ((hugs)) for those who need/want them

Morning Ticklemouse, Mrs_mix and Queenie:hello: and anyone who follows,
Not quite sure what I'm doing up at this hour! May try and catch a few more zzz's before getting up properly. Plan for today is housework, popping to argos to collect my new slowcooker and that's about it!
Am working through tonight so will try and pop back to bed for a few hours this afternoon.
Hope you all have a great day and sending you all hugs as always!

Morning all :hello:
Queenie - nice to see you, glad that you had a good Christmas
I'm up early as am off to work in a bit. Finish at 5pm so not too bad, but OH is working till 10, so no party for us tonight ( not that I really mind)
Need to get the slow cooker on in a mo, easy tea tonight.
Plans for later will include ironing, catching up on the TV I've sky +'d and finally commiting my new year new challenges list to paper and the os thread.
If I don't get back later, ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) to all and I wish you all a happy, healthy and enjoyable 2007

'Morning Ticklemouse, Mrs_mix, Queenie, FrugalPie and everyone else who follows :hello:
Spent an hour and a half in the middle of the night re-reading the Tightwad Gazette, but all in all had a good night's sleep
We had beans on HM toast yesterday Queenie ... it did make a nice change
Roasted a shoulder of lamb in the slow cooker yesterday and had some for tea. Today I'm going to be busy making the leftovers into Shepherds Pies - I'll store some in the freezer as a ready meal later in the month.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
