I am currently on a temporary contract in my job and will be due to be made permanent (if they want me) at the end of January, however after working out my money is appears like I do not have enough to cover my bills.
I have worked out roughly how much I will be paid (after tax) and when I will be paid to help and will post an SOA
£148.98 on 5th January 2007
£148.98 on 12th January 2007
£185 on 19th January 2007
£185 on 26th January 2007
£46 on 15th January 2007 from Retail Eyes
Total: £713.96
If I get taken on permanently I won't be paid again until the end of February.
I cannot take my husbands money into account because he is on a DMP with CCCS, the things I pay are not included in his plan.
£33 on Storecard - due on 5th January
£100 food shopping for January (£25 a week for 2 of us)
£210 loan due to go out on 2nd February (January already paid)
£375 rent to go out on 28th January
£11 water rates due on 2nd February
£6 mastercard payment due on 13th February
£15 visa payment due on 14th February
I have money spare on my cards but I do not want to use it as I have been working hard on getting the balance down. The only respite we will have is the council tax which my husband pays is now at its 2 free months so we will have £102 spare.
Any ideas to raise some extra cash would be very useful.
I have managed fine until now it has been just over the Christmas period where I have not been paid as much and also the transition between temporary to permanent (if they take me on) at the end of January

Tustastic wrote:Hi Bunnie1982, looks like January will a very lean month in your house. Re extra cash, is there anything you can eBay or sell at a carboot sale? Could you visit the local pubs, clubs and restaurants to see if you can get any work cash in hand? Also worth putting flyers through your neighbours doors (or in the nearest posh area!) offering to do ironing, cleaning etc. Another poster here (cannot remember the thread) said this worked well as you often get the sympathy vote for being prepared to get out there and try. You could also talk to your bank and the loan companies to see if they can suggest anything (which doesn't also cost you more in the long run obviously). HTH:)
Lol, you obviously have not seen my ironing
Seriously thanks for that, I suppose I have several items I can eBay and also put in an offer to some of the card companies of a reduced payment for one month and then a lump sum payment in February to clear all arrears0 -
If all else fails and you can't raise enough extra funds you could always speak to the HR department - I was in a similar position last year, and they were happy to give me an advance of half a months wages, paid back over a four month period (no interest or anything, just something nice they do for people in an emergency). If you can't stand the reduced income while its paid back it might not be a great option, but it was a lifesaver for us at the time.DFW Nerd No. 140

Take a squizz at the old style board - perhaps you could join in on a storecupboard challenge to use up what you already have lurking around and squeeze a bit more value off your groccery bill.
As said before - ebay, ebay, ebay. Don't need it or use it? Flog it.
Would also be a good idea to keep a spending diary if you don't already - see where the pennies go.0 -
based on your figures you will be short by about 136 but you said you have an extra 102 because of the council tax ...so you only need £34 ..should be possible0
