Hello OS gurus, I come seeking your guidance :A
My little Yorkshire Terror has just done her part for the Arts, obviously decided that our carpets are a little boring. Long story short, she stole a bottle of ink (My little sister draws using ink and the old style fountain pen things) and threw it all over our living room carpet (and herself...we've just about got her clean, although a little stained!). Obviously the ink in question was black permanent ink
Mum tried Vanish moose (did nothing), and I've tried diluted Stardrops (which lifted some) but has anyone else got any other ideas
(Lol, we can't put rugs on these spots either)
We would all be most greatful for any tips xx

I was in a similar situation some years ago (with a full bottle of Quink) and it can be totally removed if it is still wet - Get some Fullers earth and work it briskly into the ink (it will look like a total disaster) leave to dry and hoover up.
It disappears like magic
There is some for sale on eBay it isn't expensive.
HTHThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Erm....unfortunaltey it's about 6 hours old now...so well dry...would it work if I got it wet again (This is probably a silly question lol) Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190

It might be worth trying those stain devils (different kinds for different stains) as they have worked brilliantly for permenant ink stains on my clothes (teachers' perks) even some days later!“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

i remember when i was a kid many many moons ago:rolleyes: there was a magic pen you could buy and you could write over fountain pen ink and it would disappear, i wonder whether it would be worth a go???i have had a look on fleabay and cant find any i dont know where you`d get 1 from
apparantly acetone/nail polish remover is good for removing ink as well dont know how it would affect the carpet though but its already wrecked anyway so worth giving it a go:D try not to scrub the ink into a bigger patch of ink too;)
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -

Eraser pens were only for washable ink, not permanent
Good luck to the OP, I think she'll need it!0 -
Surgical spirit on a cloth , ask your Chemist for a large bottle .
Make sure there are no sources of ignition ( gas fire etc ) and open all the windows while you do it !

Check your insurance and see if you're covered for a new carpet!0

re the check your insurance policy - damage caused by domestic pets is never covered - so if you really wanted to claim for it you'd have to say that you or another family member had knocked it over (not that I'm condoning lying to insurance co's!).0
