A thing to try on an o2 free sim is to register it (gain 2.50) as usual, then do the upgrade trick to gain another 2.50. After 14 days, there will a total of £5.00 on the sim. After that, subscribe to the Home250 bolt on (4.99), and you can enjoy 250 free off peak minutes for 1 month, then u can chuck away or do whatever you want with the sim!
P.S. When you subscribe to the HOME250 bolt-on, it will deduct the £5, so you will have no credit, but you will have 250min of off-peak calls. The downsides are that this bolt on only works after 7.30 pm, can only be used to call landlines and other o2 mobiles, and can only be used in the post code area of where you live.

at least i think thats what VeePee means :rolleyes:Errrr...come back later0 -
But your only get £2.50p for registering the new sim. You need two sims to get the upgrade allowance and its credited to the older of the two sims, and you would get that allowance anyway if entitled.Plus the new sim no longer works. So i fail to see how you can get £5 free credit on a new sim.0

You can get another 2.50 by using a new sim, by using the free texts when it is activated, to send the number of another new sim to 865555. You will then recieve a text telling you that you will receive 2.50 in 14 days, and the number of the sim you texted to 865555 will be disconnected.
When you add this credit, to the registration credit (2.50), it adds up to £5.00, which can be used to buy the HOME250 bolt-on (4.99). I know that the downside is that you have to sacrifice another new sim.0 -

'O2 Home 250 eligible calls are call made from your registered UK postcode during off peak times (7.30pm to 7.30am Monday to Thursday and 7.30pm Friday to 7.30am Monday) to any UK standard landlines (starting 01 or 02) and O2 mobile numbers only.
Excluded calls are video calls, calls starting 05, 08, 07744 or 07755, calls to Voicemail 901, calls made from the UK to abroad, calls made whilst abroad, calls to premium rate numbers, mobile internet calls and calls made using the 1471 or Voicemail 901 return call facility.'
What this basically means that, after 7.30pm, you can ring any landline or o2 mobile in the uk, but only from your post code area. So the question to your answer is yes, you can ring o2 mobiles, and you can ring uk landlines. hope this helps0 -

Thanks VeePee, sorry for being so thick!
We don't make that many calls but I have lots of o2 cards going to waste so may as well make the most of them.
Cheers!0
