Re cleaning Suite!! Am well Chuffed

Options
My 3 piece is 8yrs old and has really seen better days ( 2 young children!!)
My problem has never actually been buying a new 3 piece (you can get some good bargains at the mo!) it's the fact that i cannot get a basic sofa into the room, room is plenty big enough. but access is not( my father had to saw off the arm when we moved in here:eek: )
Any way one of the chairs is really disgusting the arms were black( showed up more at night when lights are on) have tried every cleaner on market, but just seemed to make it worse, any way this am decided after searching on here for best ways to clean made up my own potion of bicarb, washing powder, oxy clean and for good measure white vinegar ;) after putting mixture on fabric i then used a damp white cloth ( one of my sons old school tops) and watched the dirt come out.
I had basically got to that point where i didn't care if fabric fell to pieces as i was so fed up with the dirt!
Result Spotless arms:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T

Be careful what you use with leather, though - it's very easy to take the protective layer off it, even with washing-up liquid. Best to use a leather cleaner or saddle soap.
  • wow that is a great idea! My sofa is looking distinctly grubby and I was thinking about hiring an upholstery/carpet cleaner for the weekend but will definitely try this first!
