My husband wants to quit smoking but needs help. So I thought I would do a "quit smoking" hamper, but am looking for ideas as to what to put in it. I have the patches and maybe some leaflets or something. But I'm at a loss for anything else he may need. Please help......

stress ball ~ those things that look like cigarettes for your hands ~ tangle (another stress thing for your fingers) ~ calendar (to mark of the cig free days) ~ piggy bank (to put all the money he saved into) ~ nicorette gum ~ mood card (as seen here http://www.smokersstopshop.co.uk/stressrelief.htm) ~ non smoking sticker for his car/desk (as a bit of fun)... still thinking0

lollipops and chewing gum, a self-help book, a stress ball, a homemade book of vouchers promising certain things after a certain time quit (e.g. back rub afetr 2 days, dinner out after a fortnight etc..):T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

Put some 'actvity' things in. The hardest thing for my OH when he TRIED:mad: to stop smoking (lasted 4 weeks - near divorce here!) was breaking the habits where he would normally be sitting with a cigarette in his hand, eg infront of the computer.
If he's into cars how about putting a couple of new car valet items in, a sudoku book to keep his mind busy etc etc etc. Things to keep the mind and the hands busy(keep it clean if he's to open it infront of other tho!).
Good luck, I hope he is successful."Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

what about a coughing ashtray (but obviously he will be using it for change and not ash :rotfl:) ~ a 'good luck' item ~ a poem ~ a thoughtfull card/message from you of encouragement...0

something of an incentive for him when he's tempted - sounds disgusting but a picture of a dirty, decaying lung?! seriously! st. john's wart can also help!0

Well I went shopping this morning and managed to get 4 packets of chewing gum, a savings tin from woolies that says "stop smoking, start saving", a book called the "little book of quitting" by Allen Carr, packet of pearl drops toothpaste, some leaflets from the chemists, and a diary to write down how long he's gone for, and I thought of a poem to put on his card - "If you really want to quit, You'll have help from this kit. Patches, gum and info too, Just to say I'm here for you."
What do you all think? I'm going to get him one of those stress balls aswell as some patches - can't get them on the NHS grrr."Failure is always an option"
