Oooh the first thread of my own in this part of teh forums lol
Hope its usefull.
M & S online have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment but when you get to teh checkout ( online) rather than you getting the third / cheapest item free you get 1 Third of the price of each item.
This works out as a better deal most the time ( well it did when we used it )
My wife brought a xmas tree, a makeup set and a token third item and got it all for less than the xmas tree cost lol
Worth looking at maybe

the offer states that when you buy 3 items from the range you get a third off each. However, great spot and certainly £££'s off what is proving to me an expensive xmas.0
-
will this be better value if you purchase 2 cheap items and an expensive one as well to get the third off??0

All of these 3 for 2 offers are most frustrating when you only want 1item. However, is there a way around this with M&S? As they take a third off of the price of each item, can I buy three and then return the ones I don't want to get a two thirds refund or will they adjust it to show full price for the items I have kept? (I only want the Meccano Red Arrow but refuse to pay 'full' price as I feel it is overcharging!)0

You need to add 3 items, then all items show 1/3 off, so the 4th and 5th etc item will also be 1/3 off.
No point trying to scam a discount if you feel its too much buy elsewhere.0 -

If the offer is taking a 1/3 of each item then it can work out cheaper to buy the one item you want along with two other very cheap items and it will come to less than the one thing you actually want. Eg if the item costs £10 and you can find two things for £1 you will end up paying only £8.
If you want something for more than £4 and can find something for £1 then it will work out cheaper to do this than just buy what you want.
If the cheapest item is £2 then what you want would have to be over £8 to make the saving on the item you want.
If the cheapest item is £5 then what you want would have to be over £20.
Hope this helps!0 -

exactly as said.
We brought a christmas tree for £60 odd and then 2 items at around a fiver
total item - £70
total reduction £23.33
total spend - £46.67
so xmas tree was £15 cheaper ( or there abouts + we got two free items)0 -
Hi,
