Best PSP deal?

Options
Our 12yr old had scraped together £180 with his birthday money and a few bits he'd sold online......and we set out to find the cheapest psp......

He bought from the Game store (this is not online for some reason?- well we can't see it anyway)

Sony White PSP Base Pack £149.99
and a choice of one free game from their selection
he chose Super Monkeyball Game which retails at £19.99
then you are allowed to choose 2 more games for £15 each
so he chose
NeedForSpeedCarbonCity and FIFA 07
(which both retail at £34.99)

Total price he paid was £179.99

(Saving £59.97):j

We treated him to the memory card from mymemory.co.uk for £21.94 for being such a good little moneysaver:money:

i also have been looking for a black PSP. Found them at a HMV store in town. For some reasons other stores only stock the white version
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Yup, I also brought my psp from game.

    They do have a website:

    https://www.game.co.uk

Although on the website, it does not show the buy 2 games for £15 each. But in store they have this.

Also, the one I brought was a black base package, with a 2.60 firmware and (by the looks of it, fingers crossed etc) it's not a ta-082 motherboard :)

    Try it out guys :)

Do you use them much? My OH bought one a few months back and has hardly used it (I'm nagging him to sell it). He tends to go on the PS2 but the initial excitement of the PSP has gone, it's not as if he hasn't got lots to play on it either as it's a 1.5 - I can't help thinking it was a waste of money though.

We found the deal for the black psp to be more expensive and quite different? They seemed to be only doing that particular deal on the white psp. Our household has black psps which seem a lot heavier than their white counterparts?

We have jobs as security officers so sitting doing a 12hr shift gets rather boring even If there is a tele supplied. The decent programs usually finish after midnight so our psps come in very handy:D . You can also put movies on it too.

The youngests mates have the same game too and when they come round they play against each other on their own psps ie FIFA 07

if you want to check to see if you have a ta-082, see this image

Can someone explain what the firmware issue is all about please?
  • The ta-082 issue is hardware related and means that none of the *cough* hacks *cough* to revert the PSP back to firmware version 1.5 will work and that you'll end up with a nice shiny brick!

FYI v1.5 firmware allows you to play copies of games from your memory stick - with a few additional pieces of software.
