Hi all,
can i have n opinion please
I am stuck what to ge tmy dad and then i was thinking of the things he loves most and it has to be hsi kids (me and my sister) and he absolutely adores his grand kids so im thinking of doing this for Xmas
im going to make him a sort of 'operation christmas child box' but instead make a 'grandads survival kit'.
Im thinking of putting all these things in with notes saying the following in it.
Marbles - to replace the ones you've lost raising your own kids
safety pin - remember to stay safe always
peppermint - because your worth a mint
clock - to remind you that time passes too quickly - so cherish every minute
energy bar - for that added boost when your grandkids arent tired but you are
pain caplets - to ease those aches and pains after a day of football with Benji
toothpicks - to hold you eyes up open after 7pm
super sours (looks liek a sweet btu is sour as anything) - to remind you kids can be sweet one minute and sour the next
then i have a canvas which im going to write this handprint poem on which goes like this
My Handprint
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday I'm growing big
And soon I'll be very tall
Then all my little handprints
Will be hard to recall
So here's a special handprint
Just so that you can say
this is how my fingers looked
when I placed them here today.
and ill get ben to put his hand in paint and do a hand print for him on the canvas too and wrap that when its dried adn put a note on the outside saying.
'Something to cherish as much as he cherishes you'
does that sound ok for a doting grandad????????????? any ther ideas of what i could add to it??????

I have a similar one, just thought you'd like to hear another.
There used to be so many of my fingerprints to see
On furniture, on walls and things from sticky grubby me.
But if you stop and think a while you'll see I'm growing fast,
Little hand prints disappear, you can't bring back what's past.
So here's a small reminder to keep, not wipe away,
Of tiny hands and how they looked: it will make you smile some day.
I love the rest of your ideas - I'll be using some of those myself this year.
