Don't forget Car Boots!!

Options
I buy most of my pressies from car boots throughout the year.

I buy for alot of people ..here gos *deep breath*....I have four children and I'm one of five children and there is their other halves...the children...the childrens girlfriends/boyfriends (if they are at our family party), grandparents, childminded children, godchildren, my childrens friends...and then the other halves family...so it adds up to 56
If I paid £10 for each present (which everyone else roughly pays) it would be £560  and thats not including my other half and own four children. This year its added up to £109 and last year it was £96. So I always feel pretty proud of myself :D

Everything I buy is always NEW and packaged/boxed/sealed. Theres lots of unwanted gifts up for sale that people dont tend to buy at car boots...especially toiltries.
You can get so many different bits and pieces if you haven't got a fixed idea of what you want to get anyone.

All the presents I buy are under £3 (thats the limit I set myself lol) but its mostly under £2 and most are worth at least £10 and some up to £20 if brought new.

This year I've brought...

A childrens boxed height chart.
A boxed silver photo frame.
Boxed Toiletries...including a mans lynx kit for £1.50...a next box £2...four bubble baths...50p...Henikin gift set £1....next ladies gift £1..marks and spencers eye shadows...bath bomb set 50p...other gift sets al under £2
A large reindeer soft toy £1.50 (not new but looks just like new)

  • I'v bought some great things for the kids from carboots, for this christmas. Got board games that have been used once, even bought a keyboard for 50p that works perfect. Its amazing how much you save. The most i've spent on tha car boot was £13 and that was for pixel chix set that would have cost £45 new. Bargain!

Yeah, my best buy a few weeks ago was The Sims Complete Collection, for £15. It's a huge box sets of all The Sims and the many expansion packs. I've given it to my OH to put away for me for Christmas!!! ;)

It was in immaculate condition and barely played with - the woman had bought it for her young daughter who had typically got bored of it soon after purchase. It's in the wardrobe now, ready for Xmas :j

I agree though, car boots are one of the best places to pick up things like gift sets and toiletries and often new goods that people haven't used - purely because it was unwanted.

Whe all said and done, if you buy something brand new from a shop, you don't hand it over to the person and give them a rundown of where you bought it (...unless they ask!), so why the need to let on when it's second-hand?

You're right theres no need to say where it comes from (I have to keep reminding myself that). I just feel sort of guilty for buying from car boots lol...but I do get a buzz too when i see them all wrapped up looking special and I've paid so little for things.
