I had to have some holiday jabs done private once because I'd left it too late for NHS.
For my doctors I needed to allow 4 weeks.
Privately I could go the same day.
Paid the cost in the end rather get some deadly disease.

If you ask your GP's reception for the telephone number of the consultant's secretary she will be able to advise cost and speed of appointment. I have been in your position, I ended up paying for my hysterectomy privately 10 years ago. You should get a swift appointment with your consultant for £100 or less in my experience, I have booked private appointments fairly recently for other problems.

I'm not sure this is still possible, though it did used to be the case. My DD saw a dermatologist privately a few months ago, and the dermatologist then asked us to bring her to see her at her NHS clinic because she has special needs and the doctor needed to have paediatric nurse and the specialised facilities available to treat her properly. She said to me that from that point on she would see her as a NHS patient, that the rules had recently changed to prevent private patients continuing to be treated by the same doctor as NHS patients, but due to the particular special circumstances in this case, that she would be able to argue that an exception should be made. I don't know if this is a nationwide rule or just applies to our local hospital.

To answer OP's question my gynae charges £100 for consultation fee + extra on top for every procedure (eg smear is £35), and you also have to pay the hospital's fees for things like blood tests and scan's and obviously for any surgical procedure.
