Woohoo! Can I join the Panny club?

I'm so excited :D. I've been using my old Woolworths BM to mix dough then baking in the oven for months as it had stopped bothering to bake the bread.

Anyway, we went to Curry's today and they were having a closing down sale and I've just bought a Panasonic SD253 for £47 :T:j:T:j.

OK, it's got no box, measuring spoon or instructions but I don't care I'm really chuffed. I've ordered the instructions from the Panny site but they're on backorder until December and for some reason I can't download them so I've just used my trusty recipe and I've got my fingers crossed. I'll know at 7.30pm ;)

This would be a really good time for somebody with a better memory (and more talent with the feeble search facility) than me to come up with the link to the site with lots of recipes for Pannys.

I know I read about it on this site and remember following the link, but since my lovely, lovely sister bought me 1 for Chrimbo last year, I haven't been able to find it (even though I've looked lots of times). As I've got the recipe book its not the end of the world, but it sounds like you could make good use of it (and I can ride piggy back if somebody comes up with goods :T ).

Oh I'd appreciate that if anyone can remember. My loaf was edible but not as nice as it usually is. The texture was different to how it turns out when I bake it in the oven, more spongey but not as spongey as shop bread.

Think it's going to be trial and error until December when my recipe book gets here.

Ive got a Panny...this is the recipe we use for basic Quick White bread takes 1 and a half hours and is Large size

    500g Strong White Flour
    2oz Butter
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon sugar
    3tsp milk powder
    320ml luke warm water
    1.5 teaspoons yeast

I tend to put the water, milk powder, salt, sugar & butter in first. I then add the flour on top and then the yeast (so its not in contact with water). Others do it differently but this works for me :)

Here is a link to other simple recipes

    http://www.carrsbreadmaker.info/recipes/

they are for Large size I believe.

I just altered my recipe for individual taste

    Good Luck & happy Breadmaking

Try here although it's the New Zealand edition of the manual.

I lost my measuring spoons and bought 2 spares from the Panasonic site and they came within a couple of days - you can use any jug for the water. Do you want one of the panasonic recipes just i/m me and I will give you the one you want
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
  • Hi,

There are some basic (and a few not so basic) recipes here. Excellent flour too.

I find it helps to weigh/measure things accurately too.

    Regards,

    White.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies. I'm ok for measuring spoons etc as I've got them from my old but broken BM.

For some reason I still can't download the manual from the NZ site, it must be my PC but I'm not very techie. I'll try one of the recipes of your link Whitefiver and see how that goes on.

    susank, I've sent you a PM ;)
