All you can eat ice cream ... kind of!

Options
Was in Ikea Thurrock and bought a 65p cone and the vanilla ice cream is self service and very yummy ... plain, strawberry sauce or chocolate sauce.

Since it was a busy Sunday (isnt it always?) and no one is supervising at the machine, everyone, including myself helped ourselves to more and more refills.

Not morally right i guess but everyone was doing it and i even overheard people saying the same. One kid had 3 refills in less than a few minutes but boy was it the yummiest ice cream! ;)

If you're really want a bargain, buy the 35p wafer cup and do the same!!!!!
Regards

Mark

Thats why we dont have 'self serve' dispensers in this country !

When i was in los angeles and you went to mcdonalds and other burger places you helped yourselves to your drink and a refill if you want, people over there dont abuse this system.

We put a quarter into a newspaper vending machine and took 2 papers, our american friend was horrified at what we had done !

They do in Nando's. You pay £1.40 or something for a bottomless soft drink and a similar price for bottomless frozen yogurt.
  • Yeah, they do free refills at Subway too. It's great! McDonalds should do it here as they do in America, although they would probably get chavs going in and trying to fill bottles and other stupid things.
  • I like the all you can eat american restaurants! The thing is though - I don't eat any more than I would if they put a meal on a plate in front of me but its great to be able to pick a few things you're not sure if you like as you can always get something else if you don;t. .The free refills of drink are good, one drinks not enough and two is too much!:)

They used to do free coffee in Mcdonalds buy one and you can get a refill. Not sure if they do it anymore as it comes out of a machine now and it tastes yucky!
It's better to travel hopefully than arrive...
  • RE: first post

To me this sounds less like money saving and more like stealing...
  • I Think they must expect this to happen if the dont supervise the machine
