However seems application is hit and miss.
This is your application to go into the lottery of ticket allocation so getting them is not guaranteed.

"Applications will not be processed chronologically, but rather via a lottery at the end of the first phase."

Also seems that you can ONLY pay for them with a MASTERCARD credit card !
Understand VISA cards NOT ACCEPTED !

Apparently there is an option for BANK TRANSFER but I believe it turns out this is only for accounts in GERMAN BANKS ! ! ! ! !

yeah mastercard is the only card payment accepted for the first phase tickets at least. I think this is due to Mastercard being 1 of the sponsers and partners. If you do not have a mastercard the only other way you can pay for tickets is via bank transfer. You DO NOT have to have a german bank account to do this, this option is specifiaclly for people who have no mastercard and no german bank account.

i have just finished off our application for tickets and now wait in hope. I know that if the matches are a sell out, which they will be all the applications are automatically chosen from by a computer. if you are thinking about applying make sure you have your passport handy as you need the number, took me ages trying to find mine out
  • I had no idea these were going to be on sale so early. I'm put off buying them in case I can't get there. Would I easily sell them if I got them? My passport has expired - would they still accept the number?

    "Tickets are not transferrable
For security reasons and to prevent ticket touting, tickets cannot be transferred. Each ticket is issued in the name of the applicant or the visitor specified in the order. Tickets may not be given or sold to anyone other than these named individuals. You need to specify your ID or passport number on the form for monitoring purposes. The technology we have in place enables us to put an entry block on a specific ticket in the event of non-compliance with the regulations." (Lifted from the FIFA site)

Selling unwanted tickets might prove difficult.

They said all that for the European Championships in Portugal in the summer of '04 and we still bought tickets and used them successfully.

They've said this about every tournament that I've gone to since 1990 and I've been to them all except Euro 2004 without any problem whatsoever - both with official tickets I've bought and blackmarket ones. How they going to do it when they give out allocations to each country that qualifies that then distributes them to their travelling members?

Cheers for this great link - always on the lookout for main event tickets, tried this a few times(world cup 2002 and euro2004) but have never been successful (yet).

i have been to every tournament again with official and "non" official tickets but i really do think that this may be a bit different.

i dont know what they can do to stop people buying them and then selling them on but i reckon they have got something up their sleeves. I am buying mine officially just to be on the safe side. there are apparently going to be 30 million people placing orders for tickets and they have around 1 million avaliable so it looks as though you are going to need a bit of luck to get your hands on any anyway.

as for the expired passport, not sure. give it a try, worse they can say is no
