Tesco Motor Insurance Warning.

I have posted on the general car insurance thread but thought it worth a separate post. Please be very careful with the newly launched Tesco car insurance for Northern Ireland. Although the online quote I got was actually more than I am paying at present, looking at it closely I was horrified at the total amount of the excesses applied - in my case they totalled over £700. Be aware that in addition to the zero, £150 or £300 excess there are additional "compulsory excesses". Read the small print!!

They were over £300 more than my renewal quote so not very competitive

time will tell with them

i was previously POed with them for not being here at all, now they are here, give them a year to realise that they need to drop their quotes in order to make money out of this market

I phoned for a quote for 17 year old. The first question I asked was if they would quote for a 17 year old in Northern Ireland as I didn't want to give all the details and then be told no. I was assured that yes, they would quote. However, after giving all the information he put me on hold and came back and said they could not quote for a 17 year old in N.I. What a waste of time.
