American cookery terms

Options
Apologies if you all already know this but in this month's Prima there is a chart for American/British recipe conversions - I found it useful:

1 stick butter, margarine or lard = 100g/31/2 oz
1 cup caster or granulated sugar = 225g/8oz
1 cup soft brown sugar = 200g/7oz
1 cup grated cheese = 125g/4oz
1 cup uncooked rice = 200g/7oz
1 cup icing sugar = 125g/4oz
1 cup dried fruit = 150g/5oz
1 cup any liquid = 250ml/8fl oz
1 cup flour = 125g/4oz

I haven't bought Prima for ages but it was quite a good read - not as good OS as Woman's Weekly though!!!
